GANTEY GOEMPA TREK IN PHOBJIKHA
Day 01: Gangtey Gompa - Gogona
A moderate trail leads through meadows and fields, and then ascends to the Tselela Pass through mixed forest of juniper, bamboo, magnolia and rhododendron. The people of Gogona speak a language called Bjopkha – the language of nomads. Their life in this isolated valley has encouraged then continuing using their ancient dialect. Overnight in camp.
Day 02: Gogona - Khotokha
A gentle climb leads to Shobjula (altitude 3,500 m) and then descends to a wide-open valley. Overnight in camp.
Day 03: Khotokha - Chuzomsa
A short climb to the Tashila Pass (altitude 2,800 m). Walk down a long way through ever changing vegetation into the valley of the Dhang Chhu. Overnight at the hotel in Punakha.

DRUK PATH TREK (5 Days & 4 Nights)
Day 01: Paro - Jele Dzong
This is a short trekking day. The trail ascends gradually through the forest of chirpine, spruce silver fir etc to the camp at jele dzong. If weather permits, Paro valley can be seen with snow-capped mountains behind. Altitude: 2,590 m, distance: 7 km. Time about 4 hours.
Day 02: Jele Dzong - Jangchulakha
Begin with climb and cross a pass at 3,900m. The trail then takes you through thick temperate forests and rhododendron trees. You may see yak herders around your campsite. Altitude: 3250m , distance: 13km
Day 03: Jangchulakha - Jynetsho
The trail follows the ridge. On a clear day, there are beautiful views of the mountains and the valley. The trail passes through lake Jimilangtsho. After the lake, the trail ascends till you reach the campsite at lake Jynetsho. If you are lucky, you might enjoy trout for dinner. Alt. 3780m, distance 15km and takes about 6 hours.
Day 04: Jynetsho – Phajoding
The trail passes just above the lake Simkota through dwarf rhododendron trees. You might camp of yak herders en route depends on time of year. The trail continues with a gradual climb with stunning views of the mountains all around. After the pass, you descend to Phajoding Monastery. Camp far above the monastery. Overnight in camp at 3200m Distance 15km and takes about 6 hours.
Day 05: Phajoding - Thimphu
The trek to Thimphu is downhill through an area forested with blue pine. Taking it leisurely, you reach Hotel in Thimphu about 2 hours for a hot showers and a nice lunch. Evening at leisure. Altitude: 2,300 m, distance: 8 km.

BUMTHANG CULTURAL TREK
Day 01: Bumthang - Nganglhakhang
The trek route follows the Chamkhar Chhu (river). Lunch stop at Thangbi Lhakhang before entering ‘Swan Land’ (Ngang Yul) with its center ‘Swan Temple’ (Nganglhakhang). This part of the valley was at first inhabited only by swans that gave their name (ngang) to the place. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 2,800 m, distance: 20 km, time: about 5 hours.
Day 02: Nganglhakhang - Ugyenchholing
Climb gradually to Phephela Pass (alt. 3,353 m), the highest point on the trek route. The trail to the pass leads through one of the most beautiful forested areas of this region. This allows for many stops to enjoy nature’s beauty. Overnight in camp. Altitude: 2,800 m, distance: 23 km, time: about 7 ˝ hours.
Day 03: Ugyenchholing - Jakar/Bumthang
The gradually descending trail follows the Tang Chhu, a trout filled river. Along the banks of this river is Tang Rinpoche Lhakhang. Distance: 10 km, time: about 2 ˝ hours. From Pangshing, drive to Jakar (altitude 2,750 m). En route to Jakarta, visit Me- bar Tsho, the Burning Lake. Overnight at the Hotel in Bumthang.

CHILELA NATURE TREK
Day 01: Paro - Chonana
The trek begins from Hotel Olathang. Most of the day’s walk is a gradual climb through farmland. The view of Paro valley from the trail is excellent. Overnight in camp at Chonana. Altitude: 3,500 m, distance: 14 km.
Day 02: Chonana - Domsela
This is a superb trekking day, which takes you up hill for about 5 hours, allowing for plenty of stops. The trail leads through forests filled with many species of primula and rhododendron. Weather permitting, views of the Himalayan range can be seen. Overnight in camp. Distance: 16 km.
Day 03: Domsela - Kyichu/Paro
The trail is down hill all the way, following the old trail between Haa and Paro, through dense forests. The trek ends at Kyichu in Paro valley. Overnight at the Hotel in Paro. Time: about 5 hours of walking.

PUNAKHA WINTER TREK
Day 01: Khuruthang - Limukha
Drive to Punakha Dzong. The trek begins with a gradual climb through chirpine forest. En route visit the village of Dompala. Overnight in camp.
Day 02: Limukha - Chungsakha
The trail leads through rhododendron and oak forests. En route pass the famous Drukpa Kuenley Lhakhang. Overnight in camp. Distance: 14 km, time: 5 ˝ hours.
Day 03: Chungsakha - Samtengang
The trail leads through the village of Sha Wangdi.Camp by the lakeside at Samtengang. Distance: 13 km, time: about 5 hours.
Day 04: Samtengang - Wangdue Phodrang/Punakha
The trail descends to the motor road. Drive via Wangdue Phodrang to Punakha. Overnight at the hotel.

SINCHULA TREK (4 Days & 3 Nights)
Day 01: Thimphu - Sinchula
Drive towards Dechhencholing to Kabjesa to start trek. The trek begins with a 4-hour climb to Sinchula Pass, through blue pine, oak and rhododendron forests. Overnight in camp at Sinchula. Altitude: 3,380 m.
Day 02: Sinchula - Dupsingpang
On a clear day, views of Phajoding Monastery and some of the Himalayan ranges can be seen. The first part of the trek is rather tedious due to difficult road conditions. After an hour walk, the village of Thinleygang, Talo Monastery and the highway to Thimphu can be seen. The trail leads on for 4 – 5 hours of walking through mixed forests to the camp. Altitude: 2,440 m.
Day 03: Dupsingpang - Chorten Nebu
The third day of the trek starts with 4-hour descent through dense forests. A small stream has to be crossed twice, then continue for another 3 – 4 hours through villages and rice fields to the village of Chorten Nebu, an old temple. Overnight in camp. Altitude: l,810 m.
Day 04: Chorten Nebu - Kabji Sirigang
The route descends for 2 hours to Kabji Sirigang, the end of the trek. Then drive to Punakha.

DAGALA THOUSAND LAKES TREK
Day 01: Thimphu - Talekha
Drive to Simtokha Rigney College of Buddhist Studies where the ponies are waiting. The trail leads through blue pine and evergreen forests till Talekha village. The village, which lies at an altitude of 2,925 m, is reached after a difficult 2 hours ascent followed by a pleasant 2 hours walk through forests of tall blue pines. Overnight in camp near the Lhakhang in Talekha.
Day 02: Talekha - Japhuna
Continue gradually up through thick blue pine, evergreen forests and oak trees, then into soft pine and spruce forest for about 2 ˝ hours till the tree line ends. Gross the Jelezela Pass at an altitude of 4,000 m. Breathtaking views of Thimphu and the surrounding areas can be seen. Further north, marvelous views of the mountain ranges can be seen. Descend for an hour and then, after two ridges, reach a yak camp at Japhuna at an altitude of 3,800 m. Overnight camp.
Day 03: Japhuna - Jadula
The trail from Japhuna goes up and down over ridges for about 4 hours to a small valley. Along the route there are many small lakes. Another 1 ˝ hour climb through rhododendron shrubs brings you to a yak camp called Jaduna (altitude 4,100 m) for an overnight stay. From the camp you can see the rocky peak of Mount Um Jomo, the highest Peak in the Dagala range.
Day 04: Jaduna - Labatama
There are two trails, one going to the left of Um Jomo over Hetsogue Pass to the Hetso Hentso Lakes, and the other to the right of Um Jomo over Jomique Pass to the Setso Yumtso Lakes. From Jaduna follow the trail that goes to the right of Um Jomo. After a climb of 1 ˝ hours, arrive at the Komique Pass at an altitude of 3,360 m. En route pass by Dungka Tso (lake). From the pass, the mountains of northern Bhutan can be viewed. Then descend for about 2 hours to Labatama Yak Camp, near Yumtso. Overnight camp.
Day 05: Labataka – excursions
Excursion to Setso and the near by lakes. An easy 15-minute hike leads to Setso. Later you can go over a small ridge and then down to Jagetso, Pemitso or other destinations. Spend the day fishing and exploring and return to camp, or an early start with packed lunch following the same trail passing Jagetso and Dagetso to Jomique Pass. From the pass, the climb to Um Jomo begins. After 2 hours of hard rock climbing, reach the Um Jomo summit, altitude 5,050 m. From the summit there is a smost spectacular view. Then descend back to camp.
Day 06: Labatama - Genekha
Leave the lovely pastures of Labana and the Dagala range and, after a 2-hours gradual climbreach the highest point for the day at Pagalaptsa, altitude 4,170 m. Descend through rhododendron shrubs for 2 hours and then enter thick evergreen and oak forests for another 2 hours till Genekha. Overnight in the camp near the village.
Day 07: Genekha - Thimphu
Follow the motor road for 2 hours till Charkilo, and then drive to Thimphu.

JUMOLHARI TREK (10 Days & 9 Nights)
Day 01: Paro - Shana
Drive up to Drugyel Dzong where the road ends and the trek begin, following the river gently uphill through a narrow agricultural valley, passing by village houses. Camp is just beyond an army post. Altitude: 2,800 m, distance: 17 km, time: about 5 ˝ hours.
Day 02: Shana - Soi Thangthangkha
Continue uphill through the river valley. It narrows and closes in and the trail winds along the drainage. The trek is mostly downhill. Camp is in a meadow with a stone shelter for trekkers.
Day 03: Soi Thangthangkha - Jangothang
Continue up the Pa Chhu (river). Pass a small army post where the valley begins to widen again. Now views of high ridges and snow-capped peaks can be seen all around. You may see yak herders’ winter homes. Camp beneath a ruined fortress at the base of Mount Jhomolhari. Altitude: 4,040 m, distance: 19 km, time: about 5 ˝ hours.
Day 04: Jangothang - excursions
Trek up to Tsophu for fishing or do any one of the three hiking excursions. Mount Jhomolhari and its subsidiary are due west, Mount Jichu Drake is to the north, and unclimbed summits and ridges are to the east.
Day 05: Jangothang - Lingshi
Wide yak pastures are visible both on the way up and down the pass. You may encounter some nomads in their yak tents depending on the time of year you are there. Great views of Lingshi Dzong as you come down into the Lingshi basin. Tserim Kang and its descending glaciers are at the north end of the valley. Camp inside the stone shelter or in a tent. Altitude: 4,150 m, distance: 19 km, time: about 5 ˝ hours.
Day 06: Lingshi - excursion
On this day, halt at Lingshi for one day excursion to Tsokha, the base camp of Jichu Drake. Large herds of blue sheep and musk deer may be seen. Altitude: 4,500 m, distance: 15 km, time: about 3 ˝ hours.
Day 07: Lingshi - Shodu
The trail ascends up to the Yalila Pass, altitude 4820 m. From the pass, Mount Jhomolhari, Tserim Gang and Mount Masagang can be seen on clear days. Then descend. Camp in a stone shelter or in tents. Altitude: 3,963 m, distance: 22 km, time: about 7 ˝ hours.
Day 08: Shodu - Barshong
Follow Thim Chhu through the forest with rhododendron and waterfalls, the river then narrows and closes in and the trail winds along the drainage, ascending to the ruins of Barshong Dzong. Camp just below the ruined dzong in a stone shelter. Altitude: 3,785 m, distance: 13 km, time: about 3 ˝ hours.
Day 9: Barshong - Dolam Kencho
Descend gradually to meet Thim Chhu, passing through forests of rhododendron then ascend once again into pastureland. Camp in a meadow. Altitude: 3,628 m, distance: 11 km, time: about 3 ˝ hours.
Day 10: Dolam Kencho - Thimphu
Continue uphill through the forest to a small pass. The trail winds up and down along the drainage. Wild animals may be seen. At Dodina, meet the transportation for drive to Thimphu. Distance: 14 km, time: 4 ˝ hours. Overnight at Hotel.
